Each fall, Montana lawyers and judges volunteer to help people better understand the law and the legal system.  Produced by the State Bar’s Law-Related Education Committee, Citizens’ Law School gives Montanans a chance to learn about practical legal topics and ask questions.

The 2026 series continues through December 2nd, with sessions on democracy in Montana, tribal legal systems, AI and the law, veterans law, employment law, wills and estates, and family law.  Most sessions are held Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; the employment law session is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10. More information can be found on the attached flyer.

The public can find program information and recordings of all eight 2025 Citizens’ Law School sessions at montanabar.org/For-the-Public/Citizens-Law-School.  Last year’s topics included tribal law and jurisdiction, family law, substance abuse and criminal justice, the federal judiciary, the work of a Montana judge, property law, landlord and tenant law, and Montana constitutional law.
