Proposed amendments to the Local Rules for the District of Montana are now available under the Local Rules tab on the website.  The proposals are shown in a mark-up document containing only the amendments with context, not the full text of the rules.  A table listing and briefly describing the rules to be amended is also posted.  Because L.R. 1.3(b) and all subsections of L.R. 1.4 are reorganized and amended, a "clean" version is available, showing just those two rules as they will read if the proposed amendments are adopted.   

Please email any comments to LocalRules@mtd.uscourts.gov by December 28, 2018.  The Judges will review the proposed amendments and any public comments.  Amendments adopted by the Judges will go into effect on a date they will specify, likely in mid-January 2019.  You will receive another announcement in advance of the effective date.
