Pursuant to Standing Order BMM-35, all attorneys admitted to the Bar of the District of Montana must renew their membership every two years by paying a $50.00 re-registration fee. Below are instructions outlining the re-registration process. The purpose of re-registration is to keep the court’s attorney database accurate.
ATTORNEY BAR RE-REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
The District of Montana’s biennial re-registration process begins October 1, 2026. As of October 1, 2026, attorneys admitted prior to October 1, 2024 will be required to re-register biennially to continue as active members of the District of Montana bar. This includes both bankruptcy and district court bar members. A fee of $50.00 will be charged at the time of re-registration. Attorneys admitted after October 1, 2024 will re-register in the 2028 re-registration cycle. Federal government attorneys as defined in L.R. 83.1(a)(2)(B), Trustees, and pro hac vice counsel are exempt from re-registration. The re-registration period will remain open through October 31, 2026. Please note, if you were locked out of CM/ECF anytime during the 2024 re-registration cycle and recently paid the re-registration fee, you will need to re-register for the 2026 cycle.
Failure to re-register by the October 31, 2026 deadline will result in restricted use of your CM/ECF e-filing account and your bar membership will be changed to inactive. The next time you log into CM/ECF you will have limited e-filing options and will be required to re-register and pay the $50.00 fee before your full e-filing rights are restored.
Please have your PACER username and password and either your debit or credit card information available before beginning this process. Each attorney must submit a re-registration on their own behalf using a PACER account. If your contact information has changed, please update your name, address and email through your PACER account.
