Pursuant to Standing Order BMM-35, all attorneys admitted to the Bar of the District of Montana must renew their membership beginning October 1, 2024.
ATTORNEY BAR RE-REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
All attorneys admitted to the Bar of the District of Montana must renew their membership every two years. The purpose of the re-registration is to keep the court’s attorney database accurate.
The District of Montana’s biennial re-registration is effective October 1, 2024. Beginning on that date, attorneys admitted prior to October 1, 2022 will be required to re-register biennially to continue as active members of the District of Montana bar. This includes both bankruptcy and district court bar members. A fee of $50.00 will be charged at the time of re-registration. Attorneys admitted after October 1, 2022 will re-register in the 2026 re-registration cycle. Federal government attorneys as defined in L.R. 83.1(a)(2)(B) and Bankruptcy Panel Trustees are exempt from re-registration. The re-registration period will remain open through October 31, 2024.
Please have your PACER username and password and either your debit or credit card information available before beginning this process. Each attorney must submit a re-registration on his or her own behalf using a PACER account. If your contact information has changed, you must submit name, address, and email through your PACER account.
To re-register, complete the following October 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024:
- LOGIN to the Court’s District CM/ECF at https://ecf.mtd.uscourts.gov.
- USING YOUR PACER USERNAME AND PASSWORD, LOGIN TO CM/ECF. If you do not know your username and password, you must contact PACER to obtain this information. The Court does not know your login credentials. PACER may be reached at https://pacer.uscourts.gov/ or 800-676-6856.
- From the Menu Bar in CM/ECF, select Civil. (If you do not see Civil on the menu bar, you must contact the Court or PACER for assistance.)
- Select Re-Registration.
- Select the Available Event Attorney Re-Registration.
- Case Number 1:24-mc-09999 will be displayed. NOTE: THIS IS A GENERIC CASE NUMBER TO BE USED FOR ATTORNEY RE-REGISTRATION ONLY. DO NOT CLICK ON THE CASE NUMBER.
- Click Next until you see the screen that prompts you to enter your name. Type your name in the box.
- Click Next to continue to the payment process.
- You may choose to pay with a debit or credit card.
After authorizing and submitting your payment, you must continue to click Next on each screen until you reach the Notice of Electronic Filing screen. If you will need a receipt of this transaction, please print or save this page for your records.
The preferred method of payment for attorney re-registration is debit or credit card. If you are unable to pay using a debit or credit card, please send an email to mtd_reregistration@mtd.uscourts.gov for further instructions.
